Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Original Article

Original Articles in the Journal of Holistic Medicine (JHM) are dedicated to presenting high-quality, original research that advances the integration of holistic and evidence-based medical practices.   • Word Limit: 3,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
  • Abstract: Structured, up to 300 words.
  • Figures: Maximum of 8 figures.
  • Tables: Maximum of 6 tables.
  • References: Maximum of 100 references.

Review Process:

Original Articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity and relevance. The review is double-blind, meaning that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the process.

Criteria for Acceptance:

  • Novelty: The research must present new and original findings in the field of holistic medicine.
  • Relevance: The study should have clear implications for clinical practice or policy in holistic and integrative medicine.
  • Scientific Rigor: The methodology must be sound, with appropriate statistical analyses and robust experimental design.
  • Ethical Standards: All research must comply with ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent from participants and approval from relevant ethics committees.

Publication Fee:

Upon acceptance, authors will be required to pay the applicable publication fee. The standard fee is $1,800, with an option for Open Choice at $2,700 to make the article freely accessible upon publication.

Licensing:

Articles published under the standard model are available to subscribers, while Open Choice articles are freely accessible under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license, ensuring maximum dissemination and impact.

Review Articles are subject to a thorough peer-review process to ensure that they meet the highest standards of scholarly excellence. The review process is double-blind, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

Criteria for Acceptance:

  • Comprehensiveness: The article should provide a thorough and balanced analysis of the topic, covering all relevant studies and perspectives.
  • Relevance: The review should address significant issues in holistic and integrative medicine, with clear implications for clinical practice, policy, or further research.
  • Critical Insight: The article should not only summarize existing literature but also critically evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in current research.

Systematic Reviews:
